This wasn’t supposed to be a regular thing, but… (=◠。◠=)”
She’s too cute not to take photos of, and then too cute not to share the photos taken. She’s so cute she even gets away posting outfit photos without any shoes on, or her hair done!
I love the little white flower print on Isabelle’s denim dress, and yes, she likes to twirl the skirt around when I put her in it. Full skirts are very popular with both girls in this household!
So are purses, shoes, and pretties for your hair and…. We have a lot of fun together.

Speaking of fun ~ I do so like the plaid fabric of this vintage maternity top. I generally tend to feel plaid is more of an autumn or winter print, and gingham is for spring and summer, but I just love this cute piece with the little bows and lace at the neck, so of course I’ll wear it anyway!
Isn’t it funny though how you can associate certain prints with certain seasons? I mean, there are some that just make sense ~ like a print with autumn leaves all over it ~ but I don’t know where I get the “Plaid = Autumn/Winter” and “Gingham = Spring/Summer” thing from.
Maybe it has to do with the strength of the pattern, or the saturation of the colors. Because a pastel plaid would definitely be a spring or summer thing!
What do you think about the “Plaid = Autumn/Winter” and “Gingham = Spring/Summer” fashion philosophy? Yay or nay? Maybe you can shed some light on this particular style “do/don’t” I appear to have picked up.

Awww, she really is too cute for words!!! Her pale flaxen hair and sparkling blue eyes remind me a lot of myself at that age (as I had both then, too).
ReplyDeleteI adore plaid and gingham a lot myself and wear them all year round. Though I would say that my gingham pieces see more wear in spring and summer (in part because they're on garments designed for that warm half of the year), plaid is a four season staple for me without fail and I could scarcely imagine my wardrobe without it at this point in time.
Big hugs,
♥ Jessica
I was a baby blondie too! :D Twins! Heehee. I lost it when I got older though, my hair just was darker and darker. I wouldn't be surprised if hers does the same thing.
DeleteHmm, so maybe the gingham/plaid split is also a designer hang over thing? I don't know, but plaid IS perfect for fall. :)
You both look adorable! Plaid for me is definitely an autumn/ winter thing, I have a dark green plaid dress that just feels perfect for wintery days. I don't have any gingham though - I should invest so I'm ready for summer! ^___^
ReplyDeleteOoo, you totally should! Not that I'm a shop-a-holic enabler or anything.... :P But gingham is such a fun print. I love wearing gingham!
DeleteSuper cute maternity style! And the little 'un is adorable too, of course. I definitely agree that plaid just feels somehow more for autumn/winter... I seem to be living in it at the moment in the UK. Maybe it's because it somehow reminds us all so much of big, snuggly blankets! CC x
ReplyDeleteMmm, I'll buy the big snuggly blanket theory ~ I do love a plaid blanket! And one of my favorite winter skirts that is super long and warm is plaid as well. So there definitely is that association. :D
DeleteBonita, you and Isabelle are sooooo beautiful! :)
