༺ A Pin Up Girl Parcel & The June Haul ༻

Oh, I’m so excited! I’ve been wanting to film more videos, and when I received a bunch of fantastic parcels in the mail, I thought “Aha! Haul video!”

Today’s video features some vintage goodies from eBay, and my first Pin Up Girl purchase ~ the Canvas Underskirt in White by Laura Byrnes. Now, I won’t say too much more about it except that I’ve been waiting a while for this petticoat, so much glee ensues.

Also, I’d like to try to make this a regular thing, and put out a new video every second weekend, but I guess we’ll see how it goes.  (^ ε ^) ♡

If you have any videos you’d like to see, please let me know, I’d love to hear your ideas! And please do feel free to ask any questions, or tag me for a video challenge.  (´ゝ∀・`)

  3. That shade of blue is so pretty on you! Great find. I'm very intrigued to see you bought the canvas underskirt - I've been eying that up for a while! How do you find it fits? I'm on the top end of one size, low end of another and I'm not sure whether to size up or down :S x

  4. I was in the same sort of spot, and I wasn't sure if I'd be buying the right size either tbh Cici! But it fits great! The elastic waist band has the right amount of give - not too much or too little.

You might like to get the larger one if you are worried about stretching it out and then you could wear it on your hips, but the smaller one will allow you to sit the petticoat on your waist which will offer more versatility. I think I'd probably go smaller, but it's up to you of course. I did find I liked the look of it on my waist more as well, so there's that too.

Hope that helps! I'll try to cover sizing etc, in my review later on, but of course, you might not want to wait until then. :)

  5. What a lovely video! I'm honestly surprised how few true vintage/repro hauls there are on YouTube. I want to (hopefully) make some more videos again myself this year, too, and am would love to give hauls a try for the first time when I do.

All of your new items are beautiful (as is the dress you're wearing it). Have a blast with each of them, sweet dear!

  6. Hauls are fun, and I'd love to see what you find Jessica! I think there is something cool about checking out vintage in real time. You get to see more of how it moves and such. :D

Plus, more repro reviews for the win. There are so many great sellers out there now, I want to know about them all! XD

  7. Yeah I think the bigger one makes me feel safer about ordering from the US which will definitely mean import taxes... I'm worried about a muffin top if the smaller one is a tiny bit too tight! And yep, I want to order before they go out of stock again ;) Thanks for your quick reply! xx

  8. I don't have any problems with a muffin top (whew!) because the elastic was stretchy enough, but I can totally understand why you want to play it safe. I paid $87.96AUD to buy my petticoat and get it shipped here. Yikes!

I really couldn't afford to send it back if it didn't fit. :P Thankfully, I don't have to. It's perfect and I'm so happy with it! :DD

And you're totally welcome! I hope it goes well for you and you get to enjoy this awesome petticoat too. (✿◠‿◠)

  10. Now I'm not sure, I think I should maybe go for the smaller one! This is tough!! It doesn't help that I don't own any PUG already to compare against...

  11. Yeah, that really doesn't help when you don't have anything to compare with. But the elastic is good... Sorry! Totally not helpful now. :)

  12. I've gone with the smaller one - I'm poor now!! Thanks for your help :) fingers crossed... x

  13. Oh, good luck! I hope it fits!! :D

  14. I love that dress and your "fairytale transformation" music when you tried it on! :)

I have to say, and I mean this in a super-positive way, but between your Australian accent and the way you talk us through opening parcels, I felt like I was watching a vintage-fashion version of Playschool! "Let's open it and find out..." So cute :)

  15. All of your items are so cute Bonita! I love that blue dress on you. So pretty.

  16. Hahahahaha! Oh, that made me laugh so hard.... Especially because ~ do you remember Benita? She was on Playschool around when I watched it, she had giant curly hair like I did, was soooo old {probably she was not if I watch the show again!} and ALMOST had the same name as me.

Not quite though, and I used to get quite cross if anyone called me Ben-ita as a girl instead of BON-ita... It actually caused me to start going by Boni for many, many years instead. :P So yeah. Funny. XD

  17. Thank you Brigid, I really love it too! The color is so great. :D

  18. Hehe that's awesome. Benita was around in my playschool years too - I really liked her!

  19. I can't really remember, but I think Nonie and John were my favourite. :D
