I am so pleased to meet you! Thank you so much for visiting my blog, Lavender & Twill, and wanting to find out more about the lady behind the page.
My name is Bonita and I am a vintage enthusiast and artist from Canberra, Australia but we are currently residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This blog is a space where I pour out my passion for vintage fashion and creative lifestyle, because no matter how crazy life gets, I want to find the beauty in living!
I know as busy mothers, or any stage of life that women find themselves in, it can be so easy to get bogged down in all the minutiae of day to day. I don't want to let that hold me back from discovering beautiful inspiration in anything ~ everything I do.
So I use this blog, Lavender & Twill, and my other social media, as basically my diary of life. There's vintage fashion, traveling, mothering, whatever else is on my plate and whole ton of photographs!
Hopefully you can find inspiration to look for the beautiful moments in your life too. Whether that will be through the fashions you dress in and express yourself through, or the flowers you decorate your home with, or the hobbies you pursue and enjoy, it's all up to you, but... I believed you are never too old, or too busy, or too much of a mum to enjoy vintage. After all ~

Now for some of what my daily life involves...
I am most happily married to a wonderful man, whom I call The Mister, and we have a small family with three beautiful children ~ a boy and two girls. I am passionate, crazy busy, shopping obsessed, and also a creative.
That means that most days you will find me dressed in genuine vintage, vintage reproduction, or vintage appropriate fashion, styling mainly authentic looks from my favourite mid-century eras, the 1940s or 1950s. Sometimes I will foray into other looks, because let's face it ~ playing with fashion is fun! But no matter what I'm wearing, my style choices reflect who I am: feminine, vintage adoring, china doll, frilly, girly, lover of all dresses, pastels, lace, and pearls usually topped off with my signature hair bow.
Being a creative also means that I tend not to be able to either sit still for a second without having something for my hands to do, or manage to confine myself to only one passion and voice of expression! I happily describe myself as a multipassionate as my hobbies include, but are not limited to:

writing

knitting
crochet
handicrafts
cross stitch

Add a hefty dose of active inclination, and top it off with a lifelong addiction to all things equine. I have a burning desire to ride to the higher levels of Grand Prix dressage one day, and pursue my equestrian goals with great enthusiasm.
